First crafted in 1978 to restore the historic 19th-century estate to its former glory, Rubicon stands as the flagship Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blend from Inglenook. Sourced from organically farmed benchland vineyards in the heart of Napa Valley's Rutherford district, the estate benefits from prime alluvial soils and ideal afternoon sun exposure, giving the fruit its characteristic depth and stamina.
Under the direction of renowned winemaker Philippe Bascaules, the fruit is strictly selected and aged for roughly 20 months in French oak barrels, the vast majority of which are new. This careful maturation refines the wine's natural concentration while building seamless structural balance.
Expect classic aromas of cassis, dark plum, graphite, and subtle cedarwood. On the palate, expect rich black cherry, espresso, and cocoa notes framed by firm, velvety tannins and that unmistakable dusty Rutherford earthiness on the long finish.
