Anselme Selosse redefined grower Champagne, proving that terroir and individuality could shine through even in a region built on blending. The NV Jacques Selosse is drawn from a solera begun in 1986 and topped up with each new harvest, spanning wines from six Côte des Blancs villages. Fermented in oak barrels with native yeasts and aged under cork rather than a crown cap, it shows a rare mix of depth and freshness born of extended lees ageing and natural handling. The 11/24 disgorgement offers layers of orchard fruit, roasted nuts, and saline minerality, the hallmark of Avize chalk. On the palate, the texture is broad yet precise, lifted by vivid acidity and fine mousse. It's both a study in patience and a reference point for grower Champagne, a cuvée that continues to evolve, bottle by bottle, disgorgement by disgorgement, with unmistakable Selosse character.
