Jansz is located in the heart of the Pipers River region in Tasmania’s Tamar Valley. Part of the Hill-Smith Family vineyards, the winery has plantings of 15 ha of Chardonnay, 12 ha of Pinot Noir and 3 ha of Pinot Meunier. Jansz is the only Tasmanian winery focused exclusively on producing sparkling wines. The winery was the first in Tasmania to produce a traditional method sparkling wine and under the leadership of long-time winemaker Natalie Fryar, the range of sparkling wines have gone from strength to strength. Jansz’s range includes two non-vintage cuvees and several vintage styles including a late-disgorged vintage wine made only in exceptional years.
