JEAN MARIE FOURRIER Vigne Comte de Chapelle, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Champ Gain 2022 Bottle
About this wine
Vigne Comte de Chapelle 1er Cru Champ Gain, Puligny-Montrachet
Champ Gain, a prestigious east-facing climat, is situated in the northern part of Puligny-Montrachet, near Meursault. The wines are celebrated for their refined bouquets, delicate floral notes, and hints of minerality. On the palate, you can expect to find vibrant citrus, creamy textures, finesse, and freshness. In French, ‘Champ Gain’ is said to mean ‘reclaimed field’, or that the vineyard has been reclaimed from the forest.
Bass Phillip’s Burgundian outpost, Vigne Comte de Chapelle, produces 14 wines that complement, and challenge, their acclaimed portfolio of Australian pinot noir and chardonnay. Owner, and chief winemaker, Jean-Marie Fourrier envisions Vigne Comte de Chapelle ‘sitting alongside Bass Phillip as a distinguished yet approachable option, offering a unique yet familiar quality that resonates with both new and seasoned wine enthusiasts.’
