About this wine
Joh. Jos. Prüm Graacher Himmelreich Riesling-Auslese, Mosel-Saar-Ruwer
Joh. Jos. Prüm Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Auslese is a standout from one of Mosel’s premier vineyards. The Graacher Himmelreich site, with its cooler microclimate and steep, slate-covered slopes, produces Riesling grapes that balance ripeness with lively acidity. The Prüm family, known for their meticulous approach to winemaking, allows the vineyard’s unique characteristics to shine through in each bottle.
The 2022 vintage offers enticing aromas of ripe peach, apricot, and a touch of citrus, complemented by a subtle minerality. On the palate, expect layers of stone fruit, a honeyed sweetness, and a vibrant acidity that gives the wine its freshness. The finish is long and clean, underscoring the wine’s precision and elegance. This Auslese is perfect for those who appreciate the prestige of Mosel Rieslings, with the added benefit of ageing potential, allowing it to develop even greater complexity over time. Ideal for special occasions or careful cellaring.

Expert Review
James Suckling
This youthful Mosel riesling Auslese has a vibrancy and precision that is often missing in these wines, blanketed by thick botrytis richness. I love the mint and chamomile freshness that pulls you into this juicy and concentrated wine and also make it very filigreed on the medium-bodied palate. Incredible precision and subtlety in the super-long finish. Try to be patient, because this is a marathon runner. Drinkable now, but best from 2026.
