Jonata Wine Todos Ballard Canyon Syrah Blend, Santa Ynez Valley

Jonata’s Todos is a Syrah-led blend sourced from the estate’s vineyard in Ballard Canyon, Santa Ynez Valley. The site is characterised by sandy soils and a maritime-influenced climate, enabling Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and several other varieties to ripen with intensity while retaining freshness. The vineyard is farmed organically, and the winemaking is low—low-intervention, utilising native yeast fermentations, extended maceration, and ageing in a blend of French oak barrels, including a proportion of new oak.

Winemaker Matt Dees treats Todos as the most complete expression of the estate’s land. The blend changes slightly each year, but Syrah is the anchor, supported by varying amounts of Bordeaux and Rhône varieties. Aromatically, it presents black fruits, smoked meat, violets, and spice notes. The palate is deep, layered, and structured, with firm tannin and a long, savoury finish. This is a serious California red that rewards time in both the glass and the cellar.
