LA CHAPELLE DE LA MISSION HAUT-BRION Second Wine of Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion, Graves 2025 Bottle
About this wine
La Chapelle de la Mission Haut-Brion - Second Wine of Château La Mission Haut-Brion, Graves
La Chapelle de la Mission Haut-Brion is the second wine of Château La Mission Haut-Brion, sharing the same gravelly soils and winemaking team as the Grand Vin. Named after the historic 17th-century chapel on the estate, this wine comes from younger vines across the Pessac-Léognan vineyards. It provides an accessible route into one of Bordeaux's most prestigious properties.
The fruit is hand-harvested and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats. The wine ages for 18 to 22 months in French oak barrels, with roughly one-quarter of the barrels new. This careful barrel program rounds out the structure without overpowering the fruit, maintaining the estate's signature precision and balance.
The nose consistently reveals dark berries, tobacco leaf and a distinct smoky, mineral character. On the palate, it delivers red currant and plum flavours supported by firm, fine-grained tannins and a fresh finish. It offers immediate complexity while possessing the structure to age for a decade.
