Decanter
Pale coloured, the tiniest hint of pink. This is a delightfully fresh, floral, light and perfumed style, no artifice or oak influence on the nose. Medium-bodied, poised and vibrant on the palate. This is very fluid, fresh and firm with good acid balance, savoury touches and a long, stony finish. Expressive and very drinkable already, but should age with interest.

Hints of white peach, pineapple, melon and lime appear on the nose of the 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc, a tank-aged blend of Clairette and Roussanne. It's medium to full-bodied, showing some warmer, riper notes of peach on the mid-palate, then balancing those with hints of white pepper and citrus on the long, mouthwatering finish.

Always a terrific effort, the 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Blanc boasts a light gold color as well as a vibrant nose of juicy citrus, tart pineapple, white flowers, and a kiss of honeysuckle. With medium-bodied richness of bright spine acidity and terrific balance, it’s a fabulous Châteauneuf du Pape white to enjoy over the coming 2 to 4 years.

Quite a firm yellow robe; has a good, clear traditional Châteauneuf aroma founded on ripe white fruit with an implicit oiliness of the South, and a secure depth. It’s not overtly aromatic, is more de la terre than the sky. The palate links well, runs with classy gras, great upholstery, the richness prolonging well, into a more upbeat, citrus tang finale. This purrs along most winningly, is a top 2019 Châteauneuf. It merits a large glass and a cracking fish: it’s STGT, ace Châteauneuf that is broad and notably long, really well orchestrated and true. There’s a hint of reduction, so it can be decanted.
