Luce Della Vite Lucente, Tuscany

Tenuta Luce began in the 1990s as a landmark collaboration between the Frescobaldi and Mondavi families. Situated in the high-altitude hills of Montalcino, the estate produces Lucente as the second wine to its flagship, Luce. This label offers a contemporary expression of the estate’s unique terroir, blending Merlot and Sangiovese to achieve a balance of structure and accessibility.

The fruit is sourced from stony, well-drained soils, then fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel. To refine the tannins and integrate the fruit profile, the wine matures for 12 months in French oak barriques.

In the glass, Lucente consistently delivers a dense purple hue. The nose is defined by black cherry, wild plum, and a hint of toasted sandalwood. On the palate, expect a fleshy texture, firm, upright tannins, and an undercurrent of espresso and balsamic spice. It is a precise, powerful Tuscan red that provides immediate enjoyment while retaining the prestige of its pedigree.
