MASSOLINO Albesani, Barbaresco DOCG

Massolino’s Albesani Barbaresco is a single-cru Nebbiolo from old vines on the south-west facing Albesani hill in Neive, a site the family began working in 2019 as part of its dedicated Barbaresco project. The clay-marl limestone soils and 50-plus-year-old vines give a tightly framed, elegant wine with dark red fruits, floral lift and a distinct line of chalky mineral tannin, matured for around 18 months in large Austrian oak to preserve purity and finesse. Recent vintages have attracted mid-90s scores from leading critics, who note its balance, fine structure and impressive length, placing Albesani among the most compelling Barbaresco releases for Nebbiolo collectors seeking both pedigree and value.
