Founded in 1979, Maxwell Wines is a family owned vineyard in the heart of McLaren Vale. The estate vineyards are some of the most favourably positioned in the McLaren Vale region. Maxwell produces an extensive array of wines from Semillon, Chardonnay, Verdelho, Shiraz, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Tempranillo among others. The winery’s premium wines include the Ellen Street Shiraz produced from plantings dating to 1953 and the flagship Minotaur Reserve Shiraz. Over the years, Maxwell has also carved out a solid reputation for producing traditional mead, made from fermented honey.
