LANGTONS
Magnificent Cabernet from one of the Margaret River region’s greatest wineries. Winemaker and proprietor Keith Mugford is in his 40th vintage. That’s consistency! For me the new release is even better than the celebrated 2014. Just about perfect balance of fruit & savoury character and well integrated tannin. Drinks very well right now though many would put aside for a special occasion. Either way it’s liquid pleasure! Fergal Gleeson, The Great Wine Blog.

Deep red/purple colour, with a lightly toasty bouquet featuring some smoky oak, quickly giving way to violet and blackberry aromas with a sprinkling of dried herbs; the palate intense and fresh, clean and lively, with brilliant depth of dark and red berry fruit flavours. The acidity is refreshing on the finish and the tannins are firm and upright. This seems to be a more elegant style of Moss Wood, but still concentrated, and a long-term keeper. This is a great Moss Wood Cabernet. 98 points, Real Review (4/2018).

"Lavish cabernet of strength, muscular feel, toasty-clovey-malty oak character and a sense of concentration. A bigger presence in palate though fruit is shyer than expected and oak a little bolder, it’s not quite all hemmed together, though many will enjoy the assertive wine that presents now. Juicy, dark berries, sour plum jam, boysenberry, bay leaf play in the mix. Tannins are gummy and supple. Give it time." 93+ points, Mike Bennie (July 2018)

"The bouquet shows the first signs of development via nuances of spice and earth. The palate is still bracing and fresh, cassis and redcurrant on the same page. These different personas are simply an intermediate stage before the wine moves on to a lingering plateau measured in decades not years."

Another exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon from this wonderful vineyard. An impressive follow-up to the outstanding 2014. This is slightly less opulent and lower in alcohol. Yet it retains the plush fruit density of the estate with that effortless elegance on the palate. Grainy tannins with a slightly sinewy feel. Less perfumed and showing more varietal graphite than some previous vintages. A wonderful statement of Cabernet at its best. It will handle very long cellaring. Drink to 2045.
