"Tasting this makes you feel all's well with the world. It's the very essence of refinement, balance and elegance. It's delicately aromatic with violets, pepper - just a smidge - wood spice and dark blue-red fruits. It's ultimately a savoury wine. Velvety tannins, complex flavours and a lingering finish. Bravo."

"This feels like a smoother, richer, more chocolaty-voiced version of this wine. Faint eucalyptus joins in the cherry-cola and choc-berry scents of the bouquet, a wild brambly note too. Spice and pepper subdued, tannin molten rather than shaping the sluice of creamy, dark berry and cola fruit flavours. The finish reminds me of more classic Langi moments when pepper announces itself late and a light pucker builds around that piquancy. It’s the late night radio host love song dedication version of Langi Shiraz, and feels like it comes from a warmer, richer place in this incarnation, and missing just a touch of its inimitable presence. Very good though, and time is on its side."

"Deep red/purple colour. The bouquet has dusty-earthy, peppery, dry spice and floral aromas; the palate lush and gorgeously elegant, fruit-sweet and stylish, with complex berry fruit and spice flavours of real charm. There's a floral overtone - the bouquet is quite exquisite. Great intensity, precision and length of palate. A great wine; very likely the best Langi shiraz yet."

"One of the great Langis of all time: waves of cherry, plum and olive. The indulgent fruit core is augmented with tobacco and generous Asian spices."

The Langi vineyard is one the most distinguished and distinctive sites for Shiraz in the country, and the detail and refinement that it displays in the cooler seasons is nothing short of astonishing. No season in recent releases exemplifies this more emphatically than 2017, dialling down alcohol and amplifying spice, personality, endurance, persistence, superfine tannins and sheer, unbridled, euphoric joy.

Exquisite flagship Grampians shiraz. Scents of bakery and savoury spice, raspberry and black plum, musky, gamey complexity and subtle oak. Seamless, intense and silky, with fine tannins and a fragrant finish.

Mount Langi Ghiran
Mount Langi Ghiran is a premium wine producer based in the Grampians region of Victoria. Originally planted as early as 1870, the original Shiraz vineyard was replanted in 1963 by the Frantin brothers. Intrigued by the high quality of the Fratin’s fruit, Trevor Mast joined Mount Langi Ghiran as a consultant winemaker in 1978. In 1987 Trevor, together with his wife Sandra Mast purchased the property and quickly established a strong following for the Langi Shiraz, one of Australia’s finest cool climate wines. The winery was sold in 2002 to the Rathbone family. Dan Buckle took over the winemaking from Trevor in 2003, continuing the vision and pursuit of quality that Trevor had set out. Tragically Trevor Mast passed away prematurely in 2012. His extraordinary vision continues to live on in the wines of Mount Langi Ghiran.
