The Finisterre range represents Robert Oatley's quest to capture single-region focus from Australia's premier wine districts. Sourced from targeted sub-districts in Margaret River, this Cabernet Sauvignon highlights the maritime climate and gravel soils that made the region famous for the variety.
Director of Winemaking Larry Cherubino oversees production using hand-harvested fruit, careful sorting, and extended skin maceration. The wine matures for 12 months in French oak barriques, some new, imparting subtle structure without overpowering the fruit.
The nose opens with blackcurrant, cedar, and bay leaf, alongside notes of dark chocolate and mint. On the palate, expect ripe cassis and dark cherry grounded by graphite and dried herbs. Fine, chalky tannins and balanced acidity deliver a long, savoury finish.
