ORLANDO Jacaranda Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon, Coonawarra

First released from the landmark 1982 vintage, Orlando Jacaranda Ridge is a benchmark Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is sourced from a single estate-owned vineyard in the region's northern corridor. This site sits on the classic terra rossa strip, where iron-rich red soil over limestone ensures excellent drainage and builds the structural backbone required for long-term cellaring.

The winemaking team employs traditional methods to preserve fruit purity and regional identity. Destemmed and crushed fruit undergoes static fermentation with regular pump-overs to manage extraction, after which the free-run juice is drained. To complement the fruit power, the wine is matured for over a year in a selection of high-quality French oak barrels, balancing structural density with structural polish.

The nose opens with aromas of cassis, blackberry leaf, dried mint, and tobacco. On the palate, expect concentrated dark berry flavours alongside fine, chalky tannins, bright acidity, and a finish displaying notes of cedar and savoury spice.
