James Suckling
This is focused and layered with aromas of fresh plums, cherries, cloves, sliced mushrooms, thyme and dried flowers. Tight-grained tannins here, with a medium body and plenty of tension. Sophisticated pinot. Drink from 2023. Screw cap.

The 2019 The Paringa Pinot Noir is really good—very fresh and spiced. The structure carries the lightweight fruit across the palate, and it endures for a good long time after the wine is gone. I love wines like this: light in frame but with plenty of fruit intensity and all things in consummate balance. Yes.

Good depth of bright red-purple colour; plummy aromas, fresh and singular, a touch of almond meal. Palate is medium bodied and firmly drying, tannin cleansing the follow-through. Concentration and structure, just needs more time to build detail. A keeper.

A light and bright ruby red colour. Red cherry, tar and rose-petal aromatics. Bright and fresh red cherry fruit on entry, hints of dry leaf and graphite adding complexity and character. Great length with a driving focus of acidity and tannins carrying it all the way.

The flavours have been magnified this vintage, adding to the wine's considerable power. It's still finding its footing. A comet of intensely flavoured dark cherries, the drizzle of kirsch, spiced rhubarb and wood-char via oak that's nonetheless integrated. However the palate is led more by acidity. Ripe sweet tannins, some grip and a brightness throughout make this ready now.
