Prophet's Rock Wines Olearia Pinot Noir, Central Otago
Located in the hills of Bendigo, a subregion of Central Otago, the Olearia Pinot Noir fruit was sourced exclusively from the highest elevation parcels of Rocky Point Vineyard. Planted on mineral-rich schist soils on some of the steepest blocks in Otago, the rocky incline drops away sharply to the blue waters of Lake Dunstan below. The grapes are hand-picked and fermented using indigenous 'wild' yeast and matured for 17 months in French oak barrels. The result? An aromatic nose of violets, followed by a concentrated kaleidoscope of blackberry, dark chocolate, spices, smoke, and an integrated tannin structure. Seamless, velvety and seductive.
