Quintessa, located in Rutherford, Napa Valley, is a renowned estate founded in 1989 by Agustin and Valeria Huneeus, who envisioned creating a world-class wine that fully expresses the diversity and complexity of its unique site. The 280-acre property, with approximately 135 acres under vine, features a mosaic of hills, valleys, and a patchwork of soils ranging from volcanic ash to silty loam, bordered by the Napa River and rich in natural vegetation and wildlife.

Quintessa is distinctive in Napa for producing only one wine each vintage: a single estate red blend, primarily Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Carmenere, all harvested and vinified block by block to capture the full range of the estate’s terroir. The winemaking philosophy emphasizes organic and biodynamic farming, gentle handling, and minimal intervention, with the goal of crafting a wine of harmony, elegance, and longevity that reflects the estate’s natural diversity.
