Olivier Leflaive (Récolte du Domaine) Clos du Roi Grand Cru, Corton

Bearing the Récolte du Domaine designation, this wine comes directly from Olivier Leflaive's own biodynamically farmed holdings on the Corton hill. Clos du Roi sits on the mid-slope above Aloxe-Corton on iron-rich Bathonian limestone and marl, an east-facing site once held by the Dukes of Burgundy.

Winemaker Franck Grux ferments hand-harvested Pinot Noir using indigenous yeasts, retaining whole berries in open vats before maturing the wine for fifteen to eighteen months in French oak barrels. New oak is around thirty per cent, framing the fruit's natural concentration without drying the finish.

The nose opens with dark cherry, spiced plum, damp earth, and dried rose petals. On the palate, dense black fruit meets savoury iron minerality, carried by firm, fine tannins and balanced acidity through a long, linear finish. It delivers serious Grand Cru authority built for the cellar.
