Société Civile du Chateau Lafleur Les Perrières, Bordeaux Supérieur
Les Perrières de Lafleur is the Guinaudeau family's modern take on Bordeaux Supérieur, crafted from limestone-rich parcels on the Fronsac plateau. Initiated in 2009 and officially named in 2018, the wine reflects nine years of meticulous vineyard development and experimentation.
The vineyard in Meyney features shallow clay-limestone soils over ancient limestone quarries. It is planted with equal parts Merlot and Bouchet (a heritage clone of Cabernet Franc from Château Lafleur). Grapes are hand-harvested, fermented in cement vats, and aged for 15 months in French oak barrels, approximately one-third of which are new.
Each vintage offers a consistent profile: aromas of black cherry, violet, and tobacco, leading to a palate of cassis, graphite, and a saline finish. The wine's structure and minerality reflect its limestone terroir.
