SPERI Sant' Urbano Classico, Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG 2016 Magnum
About this wine
Speri Vigneto Monte Sant' Urbano Classico, Amarone Della Valpolicella
Symbolic of the Speri company, the Amarone Sant’Urbano is an incredible expression of site. The old vines of the Monte Sant’Urbano vineyard are located on a sun drenched hill in the municipality of Fumane. Grapes are harvested exclusively by hand, and only the best fruit from the best vintages are selected. The grapes are then dried on traditional ‘arele’ wooden and bamboo racks before destemming and pressing. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by 24 months in French oak tonneaux and 18 months in Slavonian oak casks. At least 12 months must elapse for maturation before the wine goes to market to achieve the best possible quality. The bouquet swirls with scents of dried fruit followed by a full-bodied, warm, mouth-filling and dry palate. Displaying elegance and remarkable complexity with a muscular structure, the Amarone Sant’Urbano is a superb example of fine, classic Italian wine.
