Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

In 1976, the "Judgment of Paris" changed the wine world forever. A single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars outscored the best of Bordeaux, proving that Napa Valley occupied the top tier of global viticulture. That wine was S.L.V.

The S.L.V. vineyard features a complex intersection of volcanic soils. These diverse blocks provide the wine with its signature structural integrity and "fire and ice" character. Winemaker Marcus Notaro oversees a precise fermentation process before ageing the wine for approximately 20 months in French oak barrels. This period in wood softens the tannins while maintaining the fruit’s purity.

On the nose, expect concentrated dark berries, graphite, and cocoa. The palate delivers layers of black cherry and dusty earth, supported by a refined, mineral finish. It is a benchmark of Napa Valley, revered by collectors for its history, yet sought after for its consistent poise and power.
