TAITTINGER Comtes de Champagne Rose, Champagne 2011 Bottle
About this wine
Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Rose, Champagne
Taittinger's Comtes de Champagne Rosé sits among the most refined expressions of Champagne's long tradition of blending precision and patience. Produced only in exceptional years, it is composed predominantly of Pinot Noir from the Grands Crus of the Montagne de Reims, with a smaller proportion of Chardonnay from Avize and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. The still Pinot Noir used for colour and structure comes from Bouzy, one of Champagne's great Pinot villages.
Fermentation takes place in stainless steel to preserve freshness, followed by extended ageing in Taittinger's ancient chalk cellars beneath Reims, often over ten years on lees before release.
Each vintage reveals a poised balance between depth and delicacy: lifted notes of wild strawberry, redcurrant and citrus, underpinned by savoury brioche and chalky minerality. The palate shows persistence and shape, with fine acidity carrying through to a long, dry finish that speaks clearly of origin and time.
