The production involves open-top fermentation and extended skin contact to extract firm tannins and deep colour. Maturation occurs in a mix of seasoned French and American oak hogsheads. This technique allows the wine to develop complexity without the aggressive wood spice often found in younger bottlings. The result is a seamless transition between the vibrancy of the newest harvest and the earthy secondary characters of the older base wine.

The palate delivers dark plum, salted liquorice and cocoa. On the nose, expect blackberry concentrate and a hint of dried kitchen herbs.
