About this wine
The intensely perfumed and muscular Aberfeldy Shiraz reflects the character of vineyard site as much as the personality of winemaker Tim Adams. The 1.6 hectare Aberfeldy Vineyard comprises a large proportion of dry grown colonial vine stock planted by Wendouree's Alfred Percy Birks in 1904. Vinification takes place in closed top fermenters followed by 24 months maturation in new American oak. The rich, buoyant and spicy Aberfeldy Shiraz is a deeply concentrated opulent style with blackberry aromas, malty, cedary oak and a firm tannin kick.

ABOUT THE WINERY
Tim Adams
Tim Adams, with his wife Pam Goldsack, established their winery in 1986 following Tim’s early career with Stanley Leasingham, first as a cellar hand and then eventually as a winemaker. The winery is located near Wendouree, towards the northern edge of the Clare Valley. Tim Adams has a number of vineyard holdings dotted throughout the Clare Valley planted to Riesling, Semillon, Pinot Gris, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Tempranillo. Best known for the brooding age-worthy The Aberfeldy Shiraz, Tim Adams also makes a range of compelling wines exhibiting clear varietal purity and Clare Valley typicity.
