About this wine
Two Hands Max's Garden Shiraz, Heathcote
Two Hands is a touchstone of exemplary shiraz from across South Australia’s best regions and sites. The Garden Series uses super-premium fruit to best express the terroir of six of Australia’s finest shiraz-growing regions. Max’s Garden Shiraz is made from the very best barrels of Heathcote shiraz.
Rich, earthy, and mineral, this is a distinct and savoury shiraz with great ageing potential. Menthol, herbs, berries and pepper emerge from the glass. Medium weight on the palate, this is an elegant wine abundant in soft, mouth-filling tannins.

Tyson Stelzer
From 19yo vines at 400m elevation. Supple red berry fruits and the powder-fine mineral tannins of Cambrian soils are accented by a gentle savoury edge of bouquet garni and dried tomato. Gentle and approachable from the outset, it holds the confidence and persistence to age for the medium term.

The only one of these Two Hands wines to come from outside South Australia, the 2019 Max's Garden Shiraz comes from inland Victoria. Scents of crushed stone, black olives and espresso appear on the nose, giving it a decidedly Rhône-ish flavor, balanced against dark plum and cola fruit. It's medium to full-bodied, silky and smooth, supple and charming despite the rugged, savory flavor elements. Drink it over the next 6-7 years or so.
