About this wine
Vazart-Coquart & Fils Grand Cru Brut Reserve, Blanc de Blancs, Champagne
The Vazart-Coquart family has been involved in the wine business for centuries. In 1953, Louis Vazart and his son Jacques launched the family Champagne brand. Jean-Pierre Vazart, Jacques’ son, is now in charge of the estate.
The Vazarts grow 95% Chardonnay and 5% Pinot Noir on their 26.4 acres (10.7ha) in Chouilly. Average vine age is 30 years. They produce what is considered to be one of the best Blanc de Blancs in Champagne.

Wine Spectator
Light- to medium-bodied, featuring a frothy mousse offering flavours of ripe apple, peach and hazelnut, joined by a hint of rich marzipan. Fresh and lively, with a citrussy finish. 91 points, Wine Spectator (US).

…good length, persistence and balance. The brighter more floral side of Chardonnay takes shape in the glass. I very much like the sense of energy and brightness here.’ 91 points, Vinous.

The NV Extra Brut Cuvée 82/15 results 60% from a perpetual reserve going back to 1982 and containing 33 vintages up to 2014 with a 40% portion of the 2015 vintage. Gentle vanilla sponge cake and lemon play on the shy nose. The palate has firmness and briskness, a rather chalky backdrop and more of that pleasantly bitter citrus pith, accentuating saltiness an structure. Concentrated, chalky, brisk, energetic and bold, yet absolutely bright and elegant with a lasting and salty finish. Dosage is 1gr/L. Disgorged: February, 2022.
