La Grande Dame is Veuve Clicquot's flagship cuvée, created in homage to Madame Clicquot, who defined the house's pursuit of excellence in Champagne. Sourced primarily from the eight historical Grand Cru vineyards favoured by Madame Clicquot herself, the blend is driven by Pinot Noir, giving the wine its signature depth and structure. Chardonnay from Avize and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger adds balance and finesse.
Each vintage is crafted by Veuve Clicquot's cellar master, who vinifies each parcel separately before the final assemblage. The wine then spends close to a decade ageing on lees, developing its layered complexity and delicate texture.
La Grande Dame opens with aromas of citrus and white flowers, followed by subtle notes of brioche and almond. The palate is precise and long, showing chalky minerality and persistent tension. The Artist Gift Box edition celebrates creativity and craftsmanship, hallmarks of the house since 1772.
