Vigneti Boveri Giacomo Lacrima del Bricco Derthona Timorasso, Colli Tortonesi

Timorasso is the standout white grape of Piedmont’s Colli Tortonesi, and Giacomo Boveri has been among its leading voices since the 1990s. Lacrima del Bricco comes from a small, elevated vineyard planted in calcareous soils above the village of Costa Vescovato. Hand-harvested and fermented with native yeasts, the wine is aged on lees in stainless steel for 10–12 months, followed by additional ageing in bottle before release. It showcases the distinctive profile of Derthona, characterised by a firm structure, driving acidity, and a mineral backbone, balanced by ripe citrus, preserved lemon, chamomile, and a savoury, nutty edge that develops with age. There is no oak and no rush: the wine is made to evolve. Boveri produces minimal quantities of Lacrima del Bricco, and it remains one of the most authentic expressions of the Timorasso revival, crafted with care by one of the growers who helped rescue the grape from near extinction.
