Vincent Dauvissat La Forest 1er cru, Chablis
Vincent Dauvissat’s La Forest 1er Cru is drawn from one of Chablis’ best-known vineyards, lying just below the village on a south-west slope. The domaine has worked this site for decades, and the wines are known for their depth, structure and ability to age. Farming is organic, and the winemaking is traditional: fermentation and ageing in old oak, with no new barrels or stainless steel.
La Forest is often the most powerful of Dauvissat’s premiers crus. The nose shows lemon, green apple, oyster shell and faint smoke. The palate is firm and driven, with bright acid, chalky grip and a clear sense of site. It develops well over 10–15 years, gaining weight and complexity without losing shape. Among collectors and sommeliers, Dauvissat’s La Forest sits alongside the best of the region—not just for its quality, but for its consistency and clarity of expression year after year.
