The Fevre family have been vignerons in Chablis for more than 250 years; however Domaine William Fevre was only formally established in the 1950’s. The initial vineyard was just 7 ha, however in the intervening years the domaine has significantly expanded their holdings and are now one of the largest owners of vineyards in Chablis with holdings of 51 hectares; of which 15.9 are classified as Premier Cru and 15.2 Grand Cru. Many of the vineyards are on the famous Kimmeridgian clays, with alternating marl and marly limestone, which endows the wines with a distinctive mineral character. Fevre have 90 different plots of vineyards farmed along organic principles. The wines made under the William Fevre label include six Grand Cru Chablis, eight Premier Crus, village Chablis and a Petit Chablis.
