Domaine Armand Rousseau Grand Cru, Chambertin

The flagship. Named after the monk Bertin who cultivated it in the 7th century, Chambertin has been synonymous with Burgundy's pinnacle for over a millennium — Napoleon reputedly drank little else. Rousseau's holding produces what many consider the definitive expression of this storied climat: muscular yet refined, complex beyond easy description, and built for decades in the cellar.
