Sami-Odi Hoffmann Dallwitz Syrah
The Hoffman Dallwitz syrah is the flagship of the modern cult winery Sami-Odi. A remarkable piece of living history, the fruit is sourced from two blocks in the famed Hoffmann Vineyard, planted in 1888-1912 and 1927, respectively. The wine sees 20 months of maturation in Burgundian oak barrels and is bottled without fining or filtration. Fraser McKinley reimagines the Barossa's narrative as a lighter, fresher and eminently drinkable one. This idyll is shaped with organic vineyard practices and whole-bunch winemaking. The region's latent power builds gracefully, without any overt obviousness. Elegance over brute force is the signature here and long may it reign.
