Domaine Armand Rousseau Clos Du Château Gevrey-Chambertin
In 2012, Macau-based investor and Burgundy aficionado Louis Ng purchased the 13th century Benedictine Château de Gevrey-Chambertin that included a 1.36ha Gevrey Chambertin village monopole, a 0.30 ha plot of Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaux St. Jacques 1er and a 0.11 ha plot of Charmes Chambertin. The same year Eric Rousseau signed a long term contract to look after the vines—which are being farmed biodynamically—and make the wines. The first vintage of the village Clos du Château was 2013 and there is an old vine creaminess together with soft tannins that make this a great addition to the Rousseau portfolio.
