Domaine Georges Roumier, Chambolle-Musigny

Domaine Georges Roumier stands as one of Burgundy's defining estates. Christophe Roumier farms several parcels across Chambolle-Musigny, drawing on vines planted in limestone and clay soils. These vineyards provide the raw material for a village wine that consistently punches above its classification, setting the benchmark for elegance in the Côte de Nuits.

In the cellar, Christophe employs a light touch. Whole bunches are partially retained depending on the season, followed by ambient yeast fermentation. The wine matures in French oak barrels, with only a small proportion of new wood, preserving pristine fruit structure and site specificity without masking detail.

Every vintage delivers a classic Chambolle signature: dark cherry, violet, and damp earth on the nose. On the palate, fine-grained tannins frame precise red berry fruit, minerals, and spice. It offers immediate harmony alongside proven cellaring potential.
