The Mount Pleasant Old Paddock & Old Hill Shiraz 2018 comes from heritage Hunter Valley vines. With refined tannins and ageing potential, Gary Walsh awarded it 95 points, claiming, “the best is yet to come.” And as the perfect companion, we’ve added six bottles of the Cape Mentelle Grey Label Shiraz 2020 from Margaret River to make a full dozen. A regional benchmark, this shiraz comes from hand-sorted parcels, fermented separately, and aged for 15–18 months in French oak, revealing a full-flavoured wine with notes of dark plum, spice, blue fruits, and a gentle savoury depth. Scoring 95 points, Halliday Wine Companion’s Jane Faulkner called it a “delight.”
