There’s a distinctive sense of clarity to Château Cos d'Estournel’s second wine, Les Pagodes de Cos. First released in 1994, this wine comes from a pristine patch of Saint-Estèphe – perhaps only second to the estate’s flagship. Cabernet Sauvignon does the heavy lifting here, closely followed by merlot. A small injection of cabernet franc and petit verdot round out the edges resulting in a fresh, smooth wine. Black fruits dominate, punctuated with hints of violets and tea leaf.
