LINDEMAN'S PYRUS Cabernet blend, Coonawarra
Lindemans Coonawarra Pyrus is a Bordeaux-style blend sourced from the centre of Coonawarra's Terra Rossa strip, including the century old Nursery Vineyard, one of the oldest in Coonawarra. Its backbone is old vine Coonawarra Cabernet, up to 80%, fleshed out by smaller proportions Merlot, Malbec and/or Cabernet Franc.
Pyrus is a rich and supple wine of elegance and complexity. It drinks well in its youth but also has proven cellaring capacity. It is the softest, smoothest member of the Lindeman’s ‘Coonawarra Trio’, with Limestone Ridge, a Cabernet-Shiraz blend, and St George, a straight Cabernet. The 1985 Pyrus won the Jimmy Watson Trophy in 1986.
Pyrus offers a traditional blend to complete and compliment the Lindeman’s Trio range. This is a medium to full-bodied wine with seamless and succulent black fruit that rolls across the palate from start to finish. Bold and elegant with rich dark fruit, even texture and firm tannins.
