Expert Review
James Suckling
Intense aromas of lanolin and citrus are framed in wet-stone notes. The palate has a silky texture, beneath which is blazing acidity and very concentrated lemon. Smooth-honed and powerful semillon. From grapes planted in 1908. Drink over the next decade. Screw cap.

The vineyard for this wine was planted in 1908, the wine made in the method of that time – basket pressed, the juice only partly clarified. While the acidity provides the spine of the wine, it has more texture than almost all of its peers.

Light chalky feel, a ripcord of acidity, lemon juicy, intense, plenty of grip, a bit of Disprin, lime zest, and a zingy tart finish of great length. One for the ages.
