Domaine Jérôme Galeyrand, Côte de Nuits Village, Les Retraits, Vieilles Vignes
From vines planted in 1925 in Comblanchien bordering Nuits St Georges 1er Cru Clos de la Marechale. 25-30% whole bunch and aged in oak barrels of which no more than 20% are new. A spicy, serious and structured wine, showing its close proximity to Nuits Saints Georges.

"The 2017 Côte de Nuits Village Les Retraits Vieilles Vignes is Galeyrand's flagship and also one of the most compelling, intriguing wines in all of Burgundy. It emerges from vines planted in 1925 and 1932 next to Mugnier's Clos de la Maréchale monopole in Comblanchien. A wine of sizzling tension and energy, the Retraits brings together all of the elements that make Jérôme Galeyrand’s wines so distinctive. Bright floral and savory inflections from a high percentage of whole cluster (35-50%) adds character to this wonderfully pure, transparent Burgundy."
