Full-flavoured, unmistakably Australian reds are your thing, so there’s no need to think twice about securing this Feathered Friends Shiraz Cabernet Dozen. In fact, we’ll take one of those bottles and upgrade it to the Classified ‘Excellent’ 2018 Giaconda Warner Vineyard Shiraz. Plus free shipping.
First up, your 11 bottles of 2017 Feathered Friends Shiraz Cabernet. The label itself is a cracking collaboration between cult winery Wild Duck Creek and Heathcote brethren Whistling Eagle. It’s a distinctly Australian blend of 74% Shiraz, and the rest Cabernet. Succulent dark fruits, Christmas spice, and a weighty palate.
Then, your 12th bottle upgrade. Beechworth institution Giaconda needs no introduction, and the Classified ‘Excellent’ Warner Vineyard Shiraz is a masterclass. A little savoury, a little spicy, a showcase of fine Beechworth terroir and Rick Kinzbrunner’s considered winemaking that sees everything done by hand. It has plenty of years to go, so we suggest putting it away while you enjoy your Feathered Friends.
This is instantly appealing on the nose showing blackberry, Black Doris plum, cake spice and roasted nut aromas, followed by a wonderfully weighted palate that’s plump and succulent. It’s upfront and flavoursome with plenty of delectable flavours.

Very deep red/purple colour, with a perfumed spicy and herbal bouquet. The palate is full, open and soft, and remarkably accessible for its youth. It's peppery, briary and gentle of tannin, with a very soft, medium-length finish. Some vegetal and humus notes. A very charming shiraz.

Instantly complex aromas of red cherries and spice with sappy, fragrant intensity, leading to darker fruit. The palate has genuine density and depth with defined tannins carrying rich dark-berry flavors. Finishes very plush.
